Friday Favorites

Image
While I'm not writing, I'm living--and living well, thanks to some of the "favorites" below.  Here are some things that I'm loving lately:

My CamelBak water bottle

With June came the heat, and the heat came on STRONG.  I'm a big water-drinker year round, but I've been guzzling even more gallons to stay hydrated.  This filtered and insulated water bottle not only keeps my water clean, but also cool!  Get yours here.

BODYPUMP

Since my first BODYPUMP experience,I've really enjoyed these fitness classes!  It's my favorite way to get in one or two full-body workouts each week.  The music, the instructors, the burn... I'm a regular now, and can't wait for the next track to come out!!

AMRAP bars

Speaking of strength workouts... These nutrition bars are made with the heavy lifter in mind.  In their own words: "We are the nutrition company for high intensity, cross-trained, extreme athletes."

The website says it all: "Clean fuel for y…

See: Disney's Maleficent

Image
Happy Friday!  I started writing a "Friday Favorites" post, but I had so much to say about one of my favorites from the week that I'm going to focus solely on...

Maleficent premieres today! Woohoo!

My sister, Jessica, and I had been waiting for this for months, so we went to see it on Wednesday (courtesy of Disney), with 3D glasses and supremely high hopes.  The 3D was really cool, especially in the beginning.  The magical "moors" created for the film are beautiful, and the short tour early in the film was truly magical in 3D.

The rest of the movie was good, too, and I definitely recommend it for Disney fans.  It was funny, enchanting, and provided an interesting perspective on the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale as we knew it before.

The dark film started off in a surprisingly violent way, with war erupting between two neighboring lands; this was to set the stage for the rest of the film.  A common theme from start to finish was how man's greed led to his d…

See Disney's FROZEN

Image
Let me preface this by saying that I am a big fan of the old Disney classics.  I grew up a "Disney Princess," if you will, so I have high expectations for animated Disney movies.

Disney's latest princess tale, Frozen, did not disappoint!

A few weeks ago, I was invited to an advance screening of Frozen, although I was under no obligation to blog about it at all.  As soon as the film ended, I gave a strong applause and immediately texted my nearest and dearest insisting they see it as soon as it comes out.  Now that it's been in theaters a week already, many of my friends confirmed that they enjoyed it as much as I did.

I absolutely adored Frozen, and I'd gladly see it again!  This musical comedy is hilarious, contains a song performed by Idina Menzel that blew me away, and is entertaining for adults (even my male friends enjoyed), yet appropriate for children.

The cast includes some of my favorites, including Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, a…

See The Delivery Man

Image
In November, David Wozniak will find out that he is the biological father to 533 children.
Today, Walt Disney Studios is releasing the full-length trailer to 533 bloggers.

The Delivery Man looks like a feel-good Thanksgiving comedy.  It all comes down to the meaning of family, and I'm proud to be part of the family of bloggers bringing you the trailer premiere as part of this debut event.

The movie stars Vince Vaughn, who plays David, the irresponsible man who seems to be losing grip on both his job and girlfriend.  He is trying to find purpose in life, when it suddenly falls right into his lap.

Cute, right?  Looks like the perfect combination of laughter and sentiment.  So bummed I have to wait until November 22 to see it!  Mark your calendars :)

Learn more about The Delivery Man on Facebook and Twitter.

What do you think of the trailer?

Get Naturally Powered

Just one more post and then I promise to will consider stopping blabbing on about Chobani.

Recall last weekend, I went to the new Greek yogurt shop with Caitlin (below) and then again for a tasting event.

Leaving that night, I admired the corner location of the Soho store.  The store is on the left, below, with a vertical "CHOBANI" banner above it.

But do you see the billboard in the sky on the right?

"Naturally powering Team USA."  Chobani has been busy during this Olympic season, powering our athletes and inspiring us!  They're an official sponsor of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team and have been hosting viewing events and empowering some superstars, like those on the box below:

Oh, what's that?  It's the box that was waiting for me when I got home after the tasting event.Great timing, ChoTeam.  Inside, I found everything I need to power my summer picnic!

An insulated bag to carry the goods

...that is, a bag that will plug into my iPod and play music!

Watch "Hungry for Change"

Image
Hey, friends!  Just watched this documentary,'Hungry For Change.'  It does a fantastic job of making the food matters facts, biology, and research relatable to average people in their daily lives, and, most importantly, it does more than scare; it offers viewers SOLUTIONS.

(Can you guess the solution?  Hint: it involves eating real foods. ... oops, did that spoil the ending?)

Click the link below to watch the premiere for FREE!  That's right; through the end of the month (aka ASAP!) you can watch the entire thing for free online.  Get to it!

Too lazy?  Can't spare 90 minutes?  Fine, the gist is that the ingredients in processed foods (including low-fat foods, diet sodas, and diet shakes and bars, etc.) are chemically designed to make you eat more, crave carbs, gain weight, seek the nutrients you are NOT getting from those foods.  Worse, we become addicted to these processed fake foods, the sugar, the chemicals.  It's the sad truth.  This is what our food industry h…
