Meet these Life-Changers -- {BOOK GIVEAWAY!}

Image
This past weekend, New York City finally got to meet some real health and nutrition superstars!

Together, Sarah Ballantyne (about whom I've gushed before) andStacy Toth (whom I had the pleasure of meeting once before) chat, teach, and advise on The Paleo View Podcast.  The podcast is produced by Stacy's husband Matt McCarry,and the two of them also have several books out, the latest of which is Real Life Paleo (review to come soon, after I've gotten cooking!).

Stefani Ruper was an added bonus to this stop on The Paleo View book tour.  Stefani has been a guest on several of my favorite podcasts and also has her own self-love podcast and book: Sexy by Nature: The Whole Foods Solution to Radiant Health, Life-Long Sex Appeal, and Soaring Confidence.  After being a long-time listener of her wisdom via voice podcast, it was amazing to see her in person; she had the type of confidence and radiance that is promised from her work, so she's living proof of how to be sexy by nat…

Update and Upcoming Neon Dash in NYC! {Giveaway}

Image
Hey friends!

Since I decided to get back into running and sign up for my first 10k race, I've been upping my running game a bit--not quite as much as I'd originally envisioned (yet), but a bit.  If you follow Dare You To on InstagramTwitter, or DailyMile, you may have noticed my runs and walks.  Earlier in May and June, I was so excited to get outsidefor some open-air runs.

However, by the end of June and now in July, the heat has been prohibitive and runs were exhausting.  When the weather is right, I've still successfully gotten out in the morning or evening, trying to avoid peak heat hours. I've been able to cover my target distances, but I'm moving far more slowly than I used to!  It's hard to tell if this is due to the heat or this year's lack of training, but it's probably a combination of the two.

To give myself some extra running motivation, I signed up for an awesome race that is making its debut in New York Citythis summer:

BODYPUMP! {Review and 30-Day NYSC Gym Pass Giveaway!}

Image
The following post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Les Mills.  As always, the opinions reflected below are entirely my own.

Senior year of college, I was a regular at the student gym's "BODY COMBAT" class.  This is where I fell in love with martial arts-style classes.  It was all about moving to the music, harnessing your inner strength, and kicking butt.   That class is still one of my favorites; I loved every minute and have missed it ever since.  Turns out, the folks that created the Body Combat classes have a slew of other group fitness programs that are offered at various locations throughout the country.  The company, Les Mills, has created 13 global group training programs, which now have millions of participants in over 15,000 gyms in 90 countries.

Their weights class, BODYPUMP®, debuted in New York Sports Clubs across NYC this week.They moved in with a bang; they are now offering an average of 130 classes every week at 36 NYSC locations... WOW.  Th…

I love trying new things.  That's the whole point of this blog, isn't it?  Taking on dares, and passing them on to you!
Recently, the folks at Bestowed offered me the chance to sample their products and share a review.  I skimmed the website, and some of the brand partners involved looked appealing, so I agreed, and here we are today:

100th Post Giveaway!

98... 99...100!! This isDare You To's 100th post, so we're celebrating by SHARING some goodies acquired recently.

First, to demonstrate your loyalty as a reader, you must suffer through an explanation of my workout.  That's right; you've gotta earn your giveaway entries!

On Friday morning, I woke up way too tired.  The night before, even after the interesting and educational Technogel Twitter chat with FitFluential (where we talked all about the importance of sleep quality and quantity, and how Technogel pillows can help with both), I had a miserable night's sleep.  It took me some time to fall asleep, and then I woke at 3-something in the morning, overheated.  After hitting the restroom and turning on a fan, it still took me a while to fall back asleep.  Then, I woke again at 8-something, even though I had not set my alarm and had no reason to be up. Blah.

BUT!  I had to run!  That was the plan, and who knew what the weekend would bring (turns out: not much in the…
