Get Naturally Powered

Just one more post and then I promise to will consider stopping blabbing on about Chobani.

proud sponsors

Recall last weekend, I went to the new Greek yogurt shop with Caitlin (below) and then again for a tasting event.

Leaving that night, I admired the corner location of the Soho store.  The store is on the left, below, with a vertical "CHOBANI" banner above it.

But do you see the billboard in the sky on the right?

"Naturally powering Team USA."  Chobani has been busy during this Olympic season, powering our athletes and inspiring us!  They're an official sponsor of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team and have been hosting viewing events and empowering some superstars, like those on the box below:

Oh, what's that?  It's the box that was waiting for me when I got home after the tasting event.  Great timing, ChoTeam.  Inside, I found everything I need to power my summer picnic!

An insulated bag to carry the goods

...that is, a bag that will plug into my iPod and play music!

A beach towel, proudly showing support for Team USA

A water bottle, to keep me hydrated

( I could NEVER have enough water bottles! )

So now I'm powered up and ready to go!  And, of course, I'll be putting some Chobani minis in that bag sometime soon.  I'm always Chobani-Powered.  But I also naturally power myself with other foods!  For example, I love a banana before a run, and eggs refuel my muscles after a tough strength workout.  I know I'll be packing up some refreshing summer foods (veggies and fish in a salad, perhaps? fruit in Chobani for dessert?) for an end-of-summer (wahhh) picnic soon.

Recently, I naturally powered myself with eggplant, fresh from my mother's garden!

The night before the Yankee Stadium 5k, I made eggplant pizza bites:

Just sliced the eggplant, cooked it, added sauce and mozzarella, cooked it some more, et voila! Eggplant pizza.

Then, at home, my mom made eggplant stacks with ricotta. Delicious!

In other news, I just saw an advance screening of The Odd Life of Timothy Green, which premieres in theaters everywhere tomorrow, August 15, and it is the cutest thing I've seen in a long time.

It's Disney reinventing itself, again.  Really sweet movie, good for adults--almost better for adults, I think, than children.  A movie that anyone can enjoy.  I laughed, I cried, I had a good time. Highly recommended!

Here's a sneak peek:

Cute, right?

Have you seen any great movies lately?
What foods are your natural fuel for peak performance?
