Wash Your Makeup Brushes

Image
(For my male audience, I apologize. This one's for the ladies!)

This is a dare that, for too long, I avoided, denied its importance, neglected.  But finally, about a year ago, I came around and gave in and decided it was time to start cleaning my makeup brushes.

This is SO necessary!  It's really disgusting to think about how much old makeup is dried up in there.  Being lazy, I'd sooner have bought a new brush than deal with washing my own.  However, after some research and experimentation, I learned that it's really not that hard at all, just one of those inconveniences that seems like a bigger deal than it is.

The internet is a wonderful resource for "How To" anything.  Finding sites and videos was incredibly easy.  With so many options to choose from, I browsed a bit before choosing to follow this one, which shows several techniques:

But there are tons more, so you  can search for one that appeals to you!

Organize your Refrigerator

Continuing my dare to do somespring cleaning (yes, long aftersummer began), I'm offering a belated response to a reader question:

"organizing a fridge! i still am not sure i understand the usage for those drawers and where to put things"

Anyone who has had the unfortunate circumstance in which they had to remove all the foods from their refrigerator (say, due to long-term power outages) can attest to the refreshing feeling that comes with having a clean, freshly stocked fridge, in which every item is visible and organized in its place.  But where should everything go when you put it back in?  Does it matter onto which shelf or into which drawer the vegetables, fruits, or yogurts go?  Read more to find out.

Spring Cleaning

Dear Readers,

SPRING IS HERE!

Alright, it may actually be kinda summer already. Who can keep track anymore??

Spring rushed in...and out...and in again this year, which is both exciting and terrifying in my opinion.   (The sky is falling! The sky is falling!)  Either way, it reminds us that the year is speeding right along, and so we should take some time to prepare for summer, to clean out our lives, to remove any burdens holding us down from enjoying the warmer weather.

You may notice I've already begun spring cleaning my blog!  To lighten up a bit, I'm toying with new colors, new backgrounds, a new section on the bottom, and new "pages" for food and fitness roundups!  I would love your thoughts, suggestions, and comments.  I'm not saying you should judge a blog by its cover, but it's important to me that you like the look of what you're reading :)

So let's talk about cleaning up.  This doesn't just mean your home; spring cleaning can apply to you…
