This post begins with a shout out to Yellow Haired Girl who has been a loyal reader and commenter here, and who gave me a pleasant surprise of tagging me on her awesome blog with a Liebster Award!
... What's this about? Here's what the "Liebster Award" is:
I'm breaking the rules a little by (1) choosing only 3 blogs to share. This is out of love, because I really want you to take a look at these ladies' pages, and 5 seems to be asking a bit much of you, (2) I'm not asking them to re-post this thing unless they want to. I'm simply viewing this as an opportunity to share with you a few newer blogs that I enjoy reading regularly.
In no particular order:
Hope you enjoy reading these blogs as much as I do!
Now, that bit about the 5 random facts people don't know about me? Welllll.... I already shared plenty of random facts in this post, so refer there to learn about my fluency in American Sign Language, my weird penguin habit, and my skills with the ABCs.
Just in case you want to know MORE... hmmm what else? I can share some recent ramblings... and since I cut the blogs down from 5 to 3, I'll share three random/recent facts, as well.
1. My hair used to be really long. then 2.5 years ago I chopped it all off to donate, and have kept it relatively short since then. Now, I've recently let it grow out a bit and am enjoying having longer hair again. The experience was a good one, though, and so if you've been considering it like I was, I dare you to go for it and donate to Beautiful Lengths.
2. I am ready for a new phone, and am debating the iPhone (obvious choice, 90% sure this will be the winner) vs. an Android phone. Thoughts? (Considerations: I have a MacBook, an iPad, and iPods, so the phone could be either redundant or amazing with synching. Apple and Genius Bars are amazing. Also: Google's great too, and the idea of a real keyboard on my phone is appealing, but that's about it.)
3. Right now, I am loving brussels sprouts. I know, I sound crazy. A year ago, I would have laughed at that statement. (In fact, I did laugh at my friend Alyssa who told me how great brussels sprouts are. She knew better!) You can probably expect a brussels sprouts blog post in the near future.
... What's this about? Here's what the "Liebster Award" is:
This award is given by bloggers to other new bloggers, to help spread the word about their blogs and to help them gain more recognition.
The Liebster Award comes with four conditions that each recipient must satisfy when accepting:
- Choose 5 up-and-coming blogs with less than 200 followers to award the Liebster to.
- Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
- Post the award on your blog. List the bloggers you are giving the award to with links to their sites. Leave comments on their blog so they know about the award.
- Share 5 random facts about yourself that people don’t know about you.

In no particular order:
Rachel at Little Chef Big Appetite is a whiz in the kitchen, and she shares with us some of her most delicious dishes. It's definitely worth reading her musings, drooling at her photos, and recreating her recipes!
Caitlin at Cait Plus Ate loves food and fitness like I do, and she blogs about her life, sharing her take on fine dining, great workouts, fashion, entertainment, and so on. Check her out!
Jenn at Run With Rabbits is a runner, also fitness and nutrition-obsessed. Her posts offer great advice on living a healthy lifestyle, motivation to work out and eat well, along with recipes and equipment reviews to get you there.
Hope you enjoy reading these blogs as much as I do!

They're going to be stars!
OK That's enough for now. :) Now go check out Rachel, Caitlin, and Jenna!
Love the random facts! Even though I've been having some issues with mine lately ... I still say go with the iPhone. I'm soulmates with mine :) hahaha
ReplyDeleteHaha noted. I'm 90% sure I'll be getting the iPhone. I was hoping to wait for the newer one to come out, but I'm getting impatient with my old phone.
DeleteMy hair is about the length of yours in the picture with your long hair...and I've absolutely thought about donating it. Especially since it drives me nuts to get it caught in everything from someone's armpit to my purse. LOL
ReplyDeleteAndroids lose battery SUPER quick. Even my techie husband, who is PC & Android loyal gave his up for an iPhone. :)
Thanks for the phone tip!!! And do consider donating your hair. It always grows back if you don't love it, but it's amazing how much easier everything was having short hair. Eg: I kept marveling at how I could throw a heavy bag over my shoulder and it wouldn't catch my hair and tug on my head. Nowadays, when that happens, I consider cutting it short again!
DeleteThanks again for choosing me, I'm so honored!! And for tagging me in this fun link-up :) loving Brussels isn't weird. In fact, it's a well-understood love at my house (at least, it is among my mom and I...)
ReplyDeleteOh, you have naturally curly hair! So cute...
ReplyDeleteI always wanted natural curl...lucky you! It's so beautiful!
Aw, thank you! I do usually wear it au naturel. It used to be a burden to deal with, but I've come to love my curls :)
DeleteI recently discovered brussel sprouts too. I was sure they'd be gross but I love them grilled!
