Happy August! I'm setting some goals for the month, and dare you to do the same. My goals are in three categories: work, budget, and CHOCOLATE! I'm giving up chocolate for August (have already been successfully weaning off) in preparation for doing my second, more thorough 21 Day Sugar Detox in September. Hold me to it!
What are your August goals?
Now, for my NYC-locals, there are some great events coming up!
1. A special event is taking place at the Reebok CrossFit 5th Ave:
This Sunday, August 4, head over to CrossFit 5th Ave, where Team Dangerous is putting on "throwdown WODs", with all proceeds going to the MS Society. It's $10 to join in on the CrossFit fun, and they'll also be sharing pamphlets and information about Multiple Sclerosis, the MS Society's, and information about upcoming MS Society events.
The event will run from 1:00 to 3:00pm, and there will be post-WOD festivities taking place after. Go check it out, have fun, and support the MS Society.
2. Saturdays starting TOMORROW you can hit up New York City's Summer Streets! Run or roll up and down main avenues, or stop by the various stations along the way offering all kinds of fun and free workouts!! See the map here to plan your day.
The Reebok Fitness Zone will be stationed at the Astor Place rest stop (at Lafayette St.) with activities going on from 7:30am through 12:30pm. There will be something for everyone! Here's what's going down on August 3, 10, and 17:

3. How else can you get your fitness on this month?

I wish it was summer here but it is mid winter!! I am training for a half marathon so doing lots of running and I just started a new strength program.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Hope you enjoy the new program.
DeleteGiving up chocolate?! lol. I actually haven't had chocolate in months, not on purpose, but I prefer one kind and haven't been to the one place I can find it lately. Post 21DSD I'm seeking it OUT though!
ReplyDeleteLOL yeah I've been overdoing it on the chocolate for a while and so wanted to tackle that head-on before sugar in general. Then I'll go back to my chocolate affair, though hopefully less frequently :)
DeleteI went to summer streets last week and will be back!
