See: Disney's Maleficent

Image
Happy Friday!  I started writing a "Friday Favorites" post, but I had so much to say about one of my favorites from the week that I'm going to focus solely on...

Maleficent premieres today! Woohoo!

My sister, Jessica, and I had been waiting for this for months, so we went to see it on Wednesday (courtesy of Disney), with 3D glasses and supremely high hopes.  The 3D was really cool, especially in the beginning.  The magical "moors" created for the film are beautiful, and the short tour early in the film was truly magical in 3D.

The rest of the movie was good, too, and I definitely recommend it for Disney fans.  It was funny, enchanting, and provided an interesting perspective on the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale as we knew it before.

The dark film started off in a surprisingly violent way, with war erupting between two neighboring lands; this was to set the stage for the rest of the film.  A common theme from start to finish was how man's greed led to his d…

Fill your morning water *at night

Recently, I touted the benefits of proper hydration and dared you to drink drink drinkwater.  [See that post here!]

Each night before bed, I fill a glass of water and place it on my nightstand.  Then, in the morning, I don't need to remember to hydrate or go to the kitchen to fill up a glass; it's right there!  No thinking required!  Just get up, maybe go wash/brush, come back and bam: there's my water, ready and waiting.

It's the no-effort way to start your day with WATER!
BONUS: If you wake up in the night and need a sip, it&#…

The Paleo Approach

Image
Preface: The Paleo Approach was released in February, but two (good!) things delayed my review: 1) this book was not something I could read thoroughly and quickly, and 2) it is such a wonderful resource, that I was compelled to loan it to others who needed to preview it more than I. Now that I have it back and have had more time to parse through the pages, I bring you my review.

Why should you be concerned withautoimmune disease?Autoimmune conditions are common! An estimated 50 to 63 million Americans are affected by autoimmune disease.  It can be difficult to diagnose, as symptoms are often dismissed as effects of a stressful lifestyle, so many people with an autoimmune disease may not even know it!

Autoimmune diseases are special.  They are diverse, painful, often have invisible symptoms, and are without cure.  Many with autoimmune conditions, ranging from eczema and rheumatoid arthritis to lupus and multiple sclerosis, accept their condition as a given and take whatever symptom-mit…
